Superman is a fictional comic book character who first appeared in Action Comics #1 on April 18, 1938. He was created by the team Jerry Siegel (writer ) and Joe Shuster (artist). Superman was born on the planet Krypton and is named kal-El. He was sent to Earth by his parents when Krypton exploded. Landiing in a farm located in Smallville, he was adpoted by the couple Jonathan and Martha Kent. During his years there, he discovered and developed his superhuman abilities. Years later, he arrived to the city of metropolis, donning the name Clark Kent and working at a daily newspaper called The Daily Planet. There he met the lovely Lois Lane.

Later, after witnessing the crimes taking place in Metropolis, he decided to don a secret identidy named "Superman". In order to fight crime, he goes soemwhere in private, changes into different clothes, and flies off to put an end to the crime. His countless enemies include Lex Luthor, Toyman, Brainiac, metallo, and Darkseid.

Superman has been adapted to countless media such as video games, television shows, movies, and many more.He's been portrayed by actors such as Christopher Revee, Henry Cavill, and George Reeves.He's even been "appropriated" by many iconic artists such as Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein. Not only that, but some people see him as an biblical allegory for Moses and Jesus Christ.
